The cutest, chicest kitchen we’ve ever seen! Once a derelict cottage with no kitchen, Joe the owner has transformed it into a glimmering beacon of beauty that is viewed as soon as he opens his front door. All the greens shining out as a welcome home.

Joe is a clever collector and has gathered a really interesting array of delightfully quirky objects to fill his home and kitchen, so he needed plenty of open shelves, glass cupboards and a dramatic backdrop. He chose our emerald green tiles and Shaker cupboards painted in Bakehouse Green to create this moody space. This decision to go for dark colours in a small room is a brave one, but it worked so well and gave the room grandeur and a real sense of presence. It felt all sparkly, full of character and personality, so much so that its size was now celebrated. It really is the most elegant little kitchen you have ever walked into.

A Floors of Stone terracotta floor was laid, this was very in keeping with the rustic history of the cottage and flowed so beautifully into the garden, which was accessed by big French doors directly from the kitchen. The mix of vintage pieces and the clean lines of the Shaker cupboards made this kitchen practical and quirky in all the right places.

The final decision was a deVOL fluted sink and it really was worth the extra cost, as it adds that final tactile element to the room and works perfectly in this decorative and delightfully cluttered space.
