The Peter Le Marchant Trust & deVOL
20th June 2014
Recently we were approached by a man named Richard Teare from a local charity called the Peter Le Marchant Trust. We have known and worked with Richard for many years here at deVOL but just recently he has taken a big career change to become the CEO of this amazing charity. The Peter Le Marchant trust are based in Loughborough and they offer exciting day trips and holidays for the disabled and seriously ill. The trust have three specially adapted boats which allow disabled or seriously ill children and adults to enjoy a really special day out with their family and friends. When Richard asked us if we’d like to get involved with the charity of course we jumped at the chance.
We discussed so many ideas of how we’d like to help out, but firstly Richard really wanted some help with the charities newsletter, and we thought it would be perfect to offer some of our design knowledge and skills to help promote the charity in the best way possible. So we will be redesigning and printing the brand new Peter Le Marchant Trust newsletter. To help us do the best job possible, Richard invited Tim and I down to one of the daily boat trips to take some great photos of the children as they sailed off for the day, it was such a lovely thing to see and be a part of, everyone there was happy and laughing and having a great time!
We hope to offer lots more help to the Peter Le Marchant Trust in the near future, we even discussed the possibility of having a big fundraising event here at Cotes Mill with a charity auction, lovely food and drinks, great music, a catwalk show and lots more! We’ll be sure to keep you updated on that, but for now here are some of the beautiful pictures we took yesterday when we visited the daily boat trip….
