The Future is Here
3rd September 2013
The Design Museum is showcasing technology that could change the way we design and make the products of tomorrow. The Future is Here is an impressive exhibition of machines, materials and design approaches that may become more commonplace in the next few years. I took a visit to London see what is in store.
On display are a range of chairs, cars, shoes, dolls and even houses that embrace new methods of design and manufacturing. You can also get up close to a bank of 3D printers and watch them get to work on all sorts of miniature models.
The exhibition also features some great sustainable design projects such as the Optimist toaster! I did a post on this project earlier in the year and it was great to finally see it in person.
The Future is Here at the Design Museum runs from the 24 July – 29 October.
