The Big Apple – Part II
26th March 2018
Following our morning of walking the High Line and having an incredible lunch in Chelsea Market (check out the pics here!) we ventured over to Ground Zero, with a little detour via Wall Street.
It couldn’t not be on my list of things to do to see the Statue of Liberty, so we took a ferry ride across from lower Manhattan to Staten Island, to see her in all her glory.
As if timed to perfection, we landed back on Manhattan Island as the sun began to set and walked all the way to the Brooklyn Bridge to watch the city glisten into life.
My boyfriend had booked a table at a very special restaurant that evening for a surprise birthday meal and to top it all off, he’d somehow managed to sneak with him a surprise dress that he’d bought for me to wear – it felt like a true Carrie Bradshaw moment!
Our table was booked at The Musket Room where the chef and co-owner Matt Lambert, a New Zealand native, puts a modern spin on homestyle New Zealand cooking which is all served in a beautifully rustic-chic restaurant. Unfortunately, I have no photos of the inside or the food but I can honestly say that it’s one of the best meals I’ve ever had and would definitely recommend it for a special occasion! Check out their mouth-watering menu here.
Check back for part III (it’s the last, I promise!) of our unforgettable trip to New York.
