Our new shop, our new adventure…………………..
We have fallen completely in love with the houses of East London, the history, the style and the area is literally brimming with inspiration. The houses suit our Classic furniture so perfectly that we have bought a beautiful house and showroom. It’s really not far from our Tysoe Street shop, just a leisurely 10 minute walk through the charming backstreets of Clerkenwell. From the buzz of Exmouth Market with its quirky shops and excellent food to the elegant and quite refined square of St John, you will be able to view all of our kitchen ranges in these two locations. We hope to bring a distinctly different feel to the two shops. The high ceilings and grandeur of St Johns Square make it perfect for deVOL Classic furniture, beautifully made cupboards fitted to create a wonderful kitchen that we hope will inspire and delight you and do justice to the landmark corner building.

St Johns square was built in the twelfth century, the English headquarters of the Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem and it was located in the Priory, more commonly known to us as the St Johns Ambulance. The Priory and the walled garden are directly next to our shop along with fascinating museums and historical interest. For the less educated of us there are three delightful places to stop off for a coffee or a cocktail, all beautifully designed and stylish. You can even stay in the square in a traditional Townhouse with rooms, sheer East End indulgence. The Zetter Townhouse, Clerkenwell, is a 13-bedroom Georgian townhouse with an award-winning cocktail lounge. Located just across the cobbles of St John’s Square from The Zetter Hotel, this unique property feels more like the private residence of an eccentric (and fabulous!) great aunt than a hotel.

The Modern Pantry is another reason to visit us, we have posted images of this beautifully renovated building since we began Pinterest way back!! and now we are neighbours. We had a visit in our Tysoe Street showroom last week from one of the lovely people at the Pantry saying how excited they were to be having us so close, what a lovely thing to do. They also said they were hoping to have a Sebastian Cox Kitchen soon, we knew they had style!!
