Our favourite features of 2015!

So, 2015 has been an amazing year for everyone here at deVOL, Helen said it just perfectly in her last blog.
We have achieved a lot of cool stuff this year in every single aspect of deVOL… but seeing as I am the PR manager here, I thought it would be nice to share a few of our fave magazine features and blogs and social media bits and bobs of the year… oh, and a few little facts which I found quite fascinating and thought you might too!
First up, we were named as Remodelista’s ‘Kitchen of the week’ three times this year!! three!! very cool. Our beautiful Sebastian Cox Kitchen was awarded the title twice, once for our lovely rustic Cotes Mill installation and once for our cool Clerkenwell apartment, and our super stylish East Dulwich kitchen was also chosen. Remodelista is one of, if not the, top interiors blog in the world. They know what’s cool, they talk about things that they really love and their opinions are so highly regarded in the world of design. Thank you Remodelista, we feel very proud.
Another highlight for me, was when the amazing SF Girl By Bay blogged about our brand new Bloomsbury Kitchen. SF Girl is a san francisco girl, now living in Los Angeles, she is a ‘blogger, photographer, photo stylist, design junkie and bonafide flea market queen’ and has an Instagram following of 165k!! To hear such lovely words about our kitchens from top bloggers like SF Girl is incredible.

An ultimate fave of mine is our ‘Meet The Makers – deVOL Kitchens’ feature in issue 4 of Country Living Modern Rustic. We love this little journal so much we even sell it at both our Cotes Mill and Clerkenwell showrooms, so to have such a beautiful piece written about deVOL in there made us very happy. I love the fact that this article talks about deVOL as a whole, not just focusing on our latest kitchen shoot, it speaks about all of the incredibly talented people who work here, how deVOL started, what goes into creating one of our lovely kitchens and what our plans for the future are. It’s something we can keep and read again and again, that’s lovely. Thank you Country Living Modern Rustic!
Another big achievement for us was all of the amazing coverage we received for The Sebastian Cox Kitchen range. When we launched this range earlier in the year we knew it was special, but I don’t think we ever realised just how special it is and just how much everybody would love it. As well as being named as Remodelista’s kitchen of the week twice, this beautiful kitchen has appeared in sooo many magazines and on sooo many blogs all over the world, including Elle Deco, Living Etc and Dezeen. We especially loved it when Homes & Gardens asked to borrow our beloved Seb Cox Pantry Cupboard for one of their shoots, the finished photos looked so beautiful!
As well as lots of fab Seb Cox Kitchen features, our other beautiful kitchens have been pretty popular too! We’ve averaged about 9 mag features per month this year… with the most being 13 in one month. But I think our 3 features in The Sunday Times really stand out to me the most… we got such an incredible response from them and our brochure requests went through the roof!
2015 was the year that we properly got stuck into our social media and it has been quite a learning curve but so much fun. I love this part of my job, posting up all of our new photographs, sharing exciting news and interacting with lots of lovely customers and people who just love and admire our work. deVOL’s Instagram profile has done particularly well, we’ve now hit 8000 followers and have actually doubled our following in the last three months. I think all of the beautiful kitchen shots than Helen and Tim have produced might have something to do with that!
And can you guess which has been our most popular photo ever on Instagram!?
Well, it’s this beautiful shot of the big pantry cupboard in our new Bloomsbury Kitchen, perfection. This photo has received 340 likes and 27 comments, wow!
We advertise in lots of lovely interiors magazines, but the main way that people hear about deVOL, find our website and order our kitchen brochures is actually through Pinterest! It’s crazy, we don’t have a massive amount of followers on there, we’re currently at about 2,400, but it is definitely the one thing that sends the most traffic to our website. We love you Pinterest!
Our Pinterest followers, and all of the people who pin our pictures come from all over the world, but the biggest percentage of people actually come from the US, specifically New York… how cool!?
And our most popular Pinterest pics? Well, our Shaker Kitchen board is by far the most popular, this month alone it has received 1,592 repins. And for the image that has been pinned the most times ever on our page, it’s from our Pembridge Border Oak Kitchen (check it out here) with 3,337 pins! In second place it’s the Loft Kitchen and then the lovely Wymeswold Kitchen.
And the picture that has been pinned the most times this month? It’s this stunning Utility room shot from our Balham Kitchen, one of my faves!…

We would just like to say a reallyyyy big thank you to all of the magazines and bloggers for featuring deVOL this year, and also to everybody who follows us and watches our journey on social media. Happy Christmas, We can’t wait to see what 2016 brings!!
