Clothes hanging in the breeze – deVOLs deluxe laundry maid

We are nearing completion of our latest (and greatest!) new ‘Classic English Kitchen’ brochure, it will hopefully go to print sometime next week. Its been really exciting having the Mill as our location for new shoots, the rooms lend themselves so perfectly to atmospheric photographs and the light is always beautiful. Re doing the brochure has been so much more fun and easy too, with all the vintage products available to dress the shots. One of the last pages in the brochure to finish is the accessories section and we wanted a new fresh shot of our much loved deVOL ‘Laundry Maid‘. The sun was bright and warm yesterday, so we hung one on the beams in front of the window in the Classic Showroom. A couple of wet linen cloths and some delicate wire baskets hanging down, vintage Laundry baskets on the floor, our painted decorative ladder and the shot was done.The amazing peony’s, my very favourite flower seem to have a way of being totally over the top in colour and flounciness yet still look subtle and understated (how do they do that?!). The shot is so soft and floaty and makes the thought of a sunny day doing laundry very appealing.
