All settled in our new place
7th February 2013
We are now all settled into Cotes Mill and after a very busy 2 weeks, everything is working perfectly. The kitchen designers are busier than ever with kitchen plans and customers, the other designers are busy adding all our new Images to the website and creating new pieces of furniture to go in all the rooms of the Mill. The builders are continuing with renovations in the less used areas of the building. The kitchens are all fitted and looking better than ever before; the building lends itself so beautifully to our furniture.
This once neglected old Mill is now full of life, its integrity has been restored and it feels like the place has its soul back. We couldn’t have hoped for a better location to display our kitchens, they look amazing in this beautiful building.
The Shaker kitchen is on the first floor; the sink run is looking out onto the river with the resident swans always in view. The ground floor is spacious and you get a real sense of how our furniture will look in your house. We have a mix of deVOL cupboards and some old quirky pieces. This theme runs to the second floor, where we have our classic English kitchen, then the Air display on the top floor, which has a more lofty, minimal, luxury warehouse feel.
We have gathered together some interesting gifts and objects for you to buy, they are scattered around the walls and shelves of rooms. We have products from Bailey’s hardware, handmade items specially brought over from Portugal. Textiles and greeting cards by Theresa Green, vintage and antique items from Hungarian settles to French coat hooks. We will be adding new things as often as we can but some of the things we have already purchased are becoming favourites and we are reluctant to sell them (particularly the aqua green bench in the photo) but of course we will if you would like it.
We are very happy to show you around, everyone is welcome to turn up and wander round this rambling building and when the sun starts to shine there are wonderful grounds to explore too.
