Adventures to Calke Abbey

Happy Christmas and New Year! This weekend I decided to visit a nearby National Trust house, Calke Abbey. Even though the house was not open (opens 25 Feb – 4 Nov 12, 2012) the beautiful garden is. On my travels I went through a lovely village called Melbourne where I spotted this veg seller and bought some eggs and carrots. On returning home I used the carrots to make some caramelised carrot chutney to have in my Wensleydale sandwiches. Very tasty!
