deVOL directory: The St. John’s Square showroom kitchen -PART 1

Seeing as we haven’t shared any of the beautiful final photographs of our St. John’s Square showroom on the deVOL Journal yet and you guys have been asking lots and lots of questions about all of the little bits that make our new showroom so special over on our Instagram page, I thought it would be the perfect time to do a directory blog and share a few of the lovely new showroom photos at the same time. I’ll split this blog up into 2 parts because there’s just too many lovely things to tell you about…
First up, the beautifully elegant and eccentric sink area with cupboards from our Classic English range.
– THE SINK AREA
1. The incredible green metro tiles are handmade at Cotes Mill by our lovely potter, Claire.
They are approximately 23.5cm (w) x 15.5cm (h) in size and cost £25 per tile (inc VAT) + P&P.

2. deVOL’s ‘Ionian’ Aged Brass taps, made in collaboration with Perrin & Rowe

3. The ceiling has been painted in the very classic ‘Breakfast Room Green’ by Farrow & Ball
4. Lovely hand soap and candles with the most evocative and authentic scents by Izola
Available at our Tysoe Street, St. John’s Square and Cotes Mill showrooms, priced at £30 each
5. We sourced the gorgeous antique chandelier at an antiques fair, if you have a good hunt around there’s always a couple of beauties like this jumbled in with all the not-so-nice stuff! It’s worth sticking with it and having a good old rummage, this one looks so good, just as if it could have been hanging in that very spot for hundreds of years. We love it.
And one of my favourite parts… we sourced the quirky, cool (kind of creepy!!) oil painting from ‘Lassco’ – an amazing place for a drink and a little wander, with faded old rooms full of charm and fascinating things to fill your home, it’s definitely worth a visit and they have a few locations around London.
And now onto the island and cooker run… both the pot cupboards either side of the range and the island are made up with furniture from our Real Shaker Kitchen range, and here’s a little info on the rest…
– THE ISLAND AND COOKER RUN
6. The Bum Stool by deVOL. Machined from one solid lump of oak, this stool is super comfy and it looks beautiful and simple too.
The stools are priced at £350 each, delivery is £55 for up to 8 stools in the UK

7. An aged brass hanging rail with lots of lovely copper pans, sourced from various antique fairs and little vintage spots. This rail sits above the range cooker making it handy to grab pots and pans and utensils while you’re cooking.
We will soon be offering these beautiful brass rails as part of your deVOL Kitchen, we’ll keep you posted!
8. Every cook’s dream, a huge 1216mm Wolf range cooker. We are very proud to now be official stockists of Sub Zero & Wolf appliances, so you can order their amazing products with your deVOL Kitchen.
9. One of our newly launched Aged Brass Pot Filler taps. We made these beauties in collaboration with Perrin & Rowe and they are now available to purchase exclusively from deVOL. This traditional old style kitchen gadget is really making a comeback and we’ve already fallen in love with it.

10. The worktop on the island is honed Carrara marble and in the rest of the showroom we have used honed black granite with a lovely round moulded edge, it’s something a little different for us but it gives an added feel of luxury which we love.
Worktops can only be supplied by us as part of a deVOL Kitchen
11. And of course we had to include three of our new handmade deVOL ceramic pendant lights, they look so pretty and understated hanging over the island. The beautiful crackle-glazed shades are made by Claire and the fitting is made by our metalsmith, Stephanie.
The pendants are priced at £150 each, with the option of an antiqued brass or aged bronze fitting

And I think that’s it for part 1. So many people have popped into the showroom to have a little look and one thing we keep hearing people say is how ‘un-showroomy’ it feels, how it feels like they’re just stepping into someone’s home and how it really helps our customers to envision what a deVOL Kitchen could look like in their own home. That makes us happy, it’s exactly what we wanted to create, a space that feels real and authentic. Whether you fall for the whole look of the showroom, the eccentric East End vibes and want to create something as grand and unique in your own home, or whether you just take a little something away from it, a little piece of inspiration, that’s all we hoped for.
