Description

These beautiful bathroom taps are inspired by old vintage designs. We wanted to offer something with a lovely patina that feels less new and looks just right with traditional painted furniture.

Now you don't have to search for the perfect aged brass tap. After much research and working alongside Perrin & Rowe, we have come up with what we think is a really good and authentic finish that is exclusive to deVOL customers.

Here at deVOL, we have always recommended Perrin & Rowe taps to our customers because of their simple classic design, they are British made and of the very best quality.

Care & Maintenance

Dry with a soft cloth after each use. Clean regularly with warm water or warm water combined with a mild pH-neutral liquid soap and then polish with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth. A microfibre cloth is ideal as it is gentle but effective for cleaning without scratching and needs only to be dampened with water to clean the product. 

Do not use abrasive cloths, scouring pads, scrub sponges, steel wool etc. as they may damage the surface.

Under no circumstances should harsh cleaning agents containing acidic, caustic or abrasive components such as bleach, alcohol or vinegar based substances be used.

To remove limescale we advise a 50/50 solution of lemon juice and water. To avoid it running away, apply to some cotton wool and wrap around the area. Leave on for no more than an hour then remove the cotton wool and rinse with clean water and dry fully with a lint-free cloth. For heavy scaling, the process can be repeated as long as the area is rinsed off with clean water in-between treatments to avoid a build-up of the citric acid.

We offer one tracked service from DHL. For UK orders, each item will be dispatched as soon as it is ready and should arrive within 1-3 business days.

International orders will be dispatched only when all items are ready and they should arrive within 3-5 business days. If you wish to receive individual items as soon as they are ready, please consider placing them as separate orders.

Returns

This item is eligible for return within 28 days of delivery.

Please be aware we cannot accept returns of taps once they have been plumbed in.

Any items returned to us in the condition in which they were sent will be refunded in full, excluding any delivery fees (and a 10% restocking fee if you are ordering from outside of the UK).

We are unable to cover any return postage costs, or any loss or breakages that occur during the return process. We therefore recommend that returns are made using the original packaging with a tracked, insured and signed for service.

the perfect aged brass tap, by deVOL

A great set of taps can completely make a kitchen - or in this case, a bathroom - and it's always the vintage brass styles that catch our eye, but they’re just so hard to find in good working order. The idea of making something that looked old but worked like new was just too good to pass up so we reached out to English tapware company, Perrin & Rowe, to help us create a collection in our very own deVOL Aged Brass finish. These taps have become a staple in our customers’ kitchens and in so many homes all over the world. 
Like our furniture, deVOL taps are made using traditional methods, we embrace the use of modern machinery but often the old ways are the best. The iron mould is prepared for casting by inserting sand cores, which form the internal waterways in the tap. The mould is then closed and the molten brass is ladled into the mould at nearly 1000 degrees Celsius. The brass cools very quickly in the mould and can be opened after just a minute, leaving the fresh, but still extremely hot, casting. All the shaping and polishing of the rough castings is done by hand by highly skilled polishers. This process is done by eye and, as with many stages of tap making, it is dependent on the skill of the craftsperson to ensure the perfect finish.
The beautifully smooth, mottled finish is what makes these taps unique and so special. They have no lacquer or plating on them, we just speed up the ageing process to give a subtle aged look to the bare brass. This is why they look so authentic and only get better with time and use. There’s a lot of work that goes into crafting these beauties and we can’t thank Perrin & Rowe enough for working with us to create our dream taps and for sharing these fascinating behind the scenes images with us.
